Cookie Policy
This cookie policy explains which cookies and similar techniques Kukudushi Korsou B.V. ("we", "us") uses on kukudushi.com, what they are for, how long they last, and how you change your choice. How we handle personal data more broadly is in our privacy policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser, for example to remember your shopping bag or to keep you signed in. Local storage is a similar place in your browser, which only the website itself can read. Some of both are needed to make the shop work. Everything else we only use when you allow it.
Necessary: always on
These make the shop work. We set them ourselves, we do not use them for advertising, and we share them with nobody. They need no consent, and the shop stops working without them.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
kuku_cart | Remembers what is in your shopping bag. | 1 year |
kuku_currency | Remembers the currency you chose for prices. | 1 year |
kuku_coupon | Keeps a discount code you arrived with, so it is applied at checkout. | 30 days |
kuku_wish | Remembers the pieces you saved to your wishlist. | 1 year |
kuku_account | Keeps you signed in to your account. | 30 days |
kuku_order | Lets the order confirmation page show your order after you paid, without the key to that order staying in the address of the page. | 1 day |
kuku_staff | For our own staff only: keeps them signed in to the shop's administration. | 8 hours |
kuku_consent | Remembers the choice you make about the cookies below, so we do not ask again on every page. Kept in local storage, not in a cookie. | 6 months, then we ask again |
When you pay, the payment form of our payment processor Stripe sets its own cookies (__stripe_mid and __stripe_sid) to prevent fraud. They are part of the payment and are only set on the checkout.
If you are one of our retailers and fill in a stock count through your personal link, your browser keeps an unsent draft of that count in local storage until you send it.
Statistics: only with your consent
If you allow statistics, we load Google Analytics. It shows us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us, so we can see what works and what is unclear. Google places its own cookies for this:
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
_ga | A random number that tells Google Analytics two visits came from the same browser. | 2 years |
_ga_<id> | Keeps track of the current visit for the same purpose. | 2 years |
With statistics on, our own server can also report the steps of an order (added to the bag, checkout started, paid) to Google Analytics, linked to that same random number. Without it, nothing is sent.
Marketing: only with your consent
If you allow marketing, we load the Meta pixel. It tells Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, that someone who saw one of our adverts visited the shop, looked at a piece, put something in the bag, started the checkout or ordered. That is how we can tell whether our adverts work. We send the products and amounts involved, never your name or email address. Meta places its own cookies for this:
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
_fbp | A random number that tells Meta two visits came from the same browser. | 90 days |
_fbc | Remembers that you arrived by clicking one of our adverts on Facebook or Instagram. Only set when you did. | 90 days |
Google and Meta process this data partly in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Where we never measure
The page your Kukudushi opens when you tap it, and the instructions page printed on the packaging, never load Google Analytics or the Meta pixel, whatever you chose. Neither does a page whose address carries a personal key, such as the link to reset your password.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
The first time you visit, you choose between Accept all, Only necessary, or statistics and marketing separately under Settings. If you choose Only necessary, neither service is loaded and none of their cookies is set.
At the bottom of every page you will find Cookie settings. It opens your choice again, so you can change it or withdraw your consent at any time. When you withdraw, we stop the service straight away and remove its cookies from your browser. Your choice stands for six months; after that we ask again. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings, although your shopping bag and signing in stop working if you block the necessary ones.
