Our Story

It started with a little Curaçao snail

While hiking across the beautiful island of Curaçao with my wife, we kept finding small snails clinging to rocks and tree trunks, charming little creatures found only here, known as Kokolishi di Kalakuna, the turkey shell.

I was fascinated. From birth they build intricate, delicate shells as lifelong protection, finishing in adulthood with an elegant opening, an architectural marvel. They can even seal themselves away behind a thin membrane and survive in isolation for up to two years, waiting for better times.

Many shells on the ground are abandoned, small fossils left behind. I began collecting them, wondering if they could become a beautiful pendant. After eighteen months of experimenting the Kukudushi was born, and in the fall of 2021 we founded Kukudushi Korsou, purpose-driven, with natural products and local craftspeople.

Everything you might wonder before your first tap.

Do I need an app?

No app, no account hoops. Tapping your Kukudushi opens a secure link right in your phone's browser, and your tracking dashboard loads instantly. The link expires every day, so to check on your animal and collect your points, simply scan your jewelry again the next day.

Can I track different animals with the same product?

Yes, and this is the heart of Kukudushi. Every product can track every available animal. Start with one companion, then use the points you earn from daily scans to unlock and follow as many species as you like.

What if my animal stops transmitting?

You can still look at its track and full story whenever you like. You'll also receive extra points, so you can choose and follow a different animal in the meantime.

How often do animals update?

The GPS position updates every 24 to 48 hours, and the track you see runs at least 24 hours behind. That gentle delay is deliberate: it protects animals from poaching by never revealing a real-time position, while still letting you follow the journey day by day.

Can I unlock more animals?

Absolutely. Scan daily to earn points, then spend them to unlock additional wildlife trackers. The more you engage, the bigger your personal ocean of companions grows, all from the one product you already own.
